Baraja: "We want to dedicate the victory to the victims and those affected by the 'DANA'"
The coach previews the game against Real Betis
Pepelu spoke to the media following the VCF-Las Palmas game.
A first win at home
We were looking forward to having a league match here at the Mestalla and what better way to do it than to get a victory. These are three very important points, which make us reinforce the work we are doing. We also kept a clean sheet. Hopefully next week we can get another victory.
Patience
We knew that Las Palmas are a very recognisable team, who like to play the ball. We had very clear ideas and we knew that our opportunity would come. In the end it was a penalty, but it could have been from another chance. We are happy with the victory.
Scoring the penalty
I'm a calm person. The team gave me the confidence to take the penalty and it went in. I am happy for the three points.
Keeping cool for the penalty
I didn't know where I was going to put it. The goalkeeper decided to div e to his left, but I was calm, I was clear and, luckily for me, the ball went in.
A special dedication for his goal
It's for my friends, who are in the stands and always support me. I'm happy because they are always alongside me and this one is for them.
Keeping their feet on the ground
This victory serves to reinforce what has been worked on during preseason and in the first game. We are realistic and every game we have to give our best to win. This is the way to go.
The impact of Mestalla
We know that Mestalla will always be behind us. It's a shame we can't have the Grada de Animación here. We are looking forward to them being with us again because it is a very big boost. They encourage those of us who are on the pitch and also the other fans. This victory is also for them.
